carry-with utensils	design a switch blade type utensil kit, make it sleeker, more every day use than a swiss army knife. tools to eat with for every day on the go, not just camping. would strap to arm or leg, be unobtrusive, mostly flat. could come as an accessorie for certain jackets or garments. or not	too much energy, materials, environmentally damaging manufacturing processes go into the production of plastic ware, and the concept of single-use is no longer acceptable. Plus, in an era of swine flu and other communicables, it can be reassuring to have utensils instead of using your hands if unable to wash them.

Paperless Cafe	Cafe that either washes mugs like they wash glasses at bars, sells mugs, or expect you to bring your own.	Society needs this kind of push, and although it's only one business, and may lose business, there will be hardcore likers of this idea. it will also get people talking. it will bring to light the issue, which is blatant yet blind to most people currently.


Broadcast Baseball W/out the Commentators	edit multi cam baseball game without the commentators, bring in more audio from the field, ambience, players, SFX, maybe add angles	The point of watching it is to feel like you're there. The commentators ruin the ambience. Start a cable channel that airs uncommentated baseball as a sort of fringe thing. confident it will become the preferred.

Radio Cafe	A cafe that instead of playing top 40 or some random compilation streams NPR and plays it at a volume that everyone can hear. perhaps have it at small table speakers. It would be a good place to go to get your news communally and maybe even engage in discussions concerning the broadcast with other patrons.	one purpose of the coffee shop is as a 'third place' (not home, not work). Starbucks and other corporate coffee cultures dont provide the right environment for community.


"phrase dictionary"	Make a dictionary with two-word combos, or incorporate it into current dictionary. Two word combinations that describe a new concept are typically Adj.-Noun in structure, but are not bound to this.	I know what "outlook" means, and I know what "prospective" means, but do I know exactly what "prospective outlook" means?


Personal Lung-Imagery Generation	If lungs are truly regenerative, thenfind a way to obtain progressive imagery of one's lungs as part of a recovery program to quit smoking.	Will be more useful than seeing images of other people's lungs on a cigarette box. Seeing your own lungs will be like seeing your own muscles. Gives a concrete goal. Shows results.


Time passing at all levels; animation.	Develop an animation zooming in or out of a galaxy and its many stars, but while the animation itself is in timelapse (assuming galaxies are swirling while suns' planets are orbiting, etc)	one of these factors was missing in SF's Academy of Sciences planetarium show.



elective taxes - increase tax revenue	Given that the interests of every citizen are varied, allow for the individual to customize their own tax contributions (for a FEE or percentage increase of tax) Many people, including myself, would give up more of their income to know that the money they were giving up went in favor of the services and institutions they value.	Currently there is no conscientious objector clause for paying taxes, and since so much of my tax money goes to Military Defense and bombs for Afghanistan and Iraq, and since, on an international scale, paying for weapons is as good as using them.


Make tailpipe emissions opaque.	Seek help from a chemist to determine if there is an ingredient that can be added to a car's tailpipe to turn its emissions opaque and colored. Then, either secretly or in agreement with car owners in a particular area of the city (either as a prank or as an installation piece) add the ingredient to the gas tanks and watch as cars stuck in traffic smoke up the block.	To show people what they normally cannot see: pollution from vehicles and its proximity to pedestrians.



Ear Ring-Lip Ring cellphones	Create a handless wireless cellphone setup that includes an ear cartilage ring (earpiece), a lip ring (microphone) and a remote for caller ID, browsing etc. This would be like the cricket that people wear but smaller and not as ugly. Think Apple-style minimalism but with customizability.	Like the cricket but smaller and not as ugly. It would also only appeal to a specific demo, those who are both tech inclined and alternative enough to wear liprings and earrings. The specificity of the target demo would not be a hindrance, but rather a novelty, and maybe even catch on in other circles.
